This weekend is the first week of the Season 4 Playoffs.
We have four exciting matches ahead of us this weekend.
Here is a breakdown of the teams participating:
Seed 1 vs. Seed 8
Tank vs Rxxistance on Detonate
Tank!
Last year's champion and favorite to win, Tank! have had an impressive season with twelve victories and no losses;
Holding steady in first place from the start! Looking to add another award to their mantel, they'll be facing off first against the venerable RX.
In one previous confrontation, Tank! defeated RX on Silo, but with both teams experiencing roster changes,
Will RX prove themselves a panzerfaust? The match will take place on Detonate, on which Tank! have (of course) been very successful in the past.
If Tank! continue their winning streak, they'll meet up with either fellow American team FePh, or the primarily Germany-based LoSD.
Rxxistance
Rxxistance, returning as a well known team from the earlier days of Dystopia's competitive scene,
have had a turbulent season that has found them vying against a wide range of teams.
Settling in the eighth seed, they've had a solid season of six wins, and six losses.
The first match in their battle to the top is against the powerful Tank!, offering them a chance to show the relative newcomers a taste of the old school. The match will be played on Detonate, on which Rx have proven successful this season.
Having lost to Tank! in one previous match, the primarily Spanish team is no doubt hungry to even the odds!
If they win, they'll go up against American team FePh, or Germany's LoSD in round two of the DGL Playoffs!
Seed 4 vs. Seed 5
Iron Phists vs Lemmings of Self Destruction on Fortress
FePh
Contending in their third consecutive year, Iron Phists find themselves in the Playoffs after falling just short in two previous seasons.
Their bid for this year has been relatively successful, holding steady around the middle tier for the majority of the season.
Finishing in the fourth seed position, they maintain ratio of eight wins to five losses, matching their first round opponent, LoSD.
Maintaining frequent rivalry with the primarily German team, they will attempt to solidify a recent series of victories against the veteran contenders.
The match will occur on Fortress, on which FePh have had a series of losses in recent games.
If successful, they'll face either last season's victor Tank!, or the recently returned RX!
LoSD
Long-time veterans of the Dystopia competitive scene, Lemmings of Self Destruction return in Season 4 for another shot at victory!
Well known contenders in previous DGL seasons, can they finally manage to fight their way to the top?
Having kept a solid lock on the middle tier for most of the season, LoSD hold a respectable record of eight wins to five losses, Leaving them in the fifth seed.
Their match for the first round will be waged against frequent adversary FePh, against whom they'll seek to overturn a recent series of close losses.
The match will be played on Fortress, where LoSD have seen a good deal of success this season.
If they seize victory, they'll be up against favorite to win, Tank!, or recently reformed RX.
Seed 3 vs Seed 6
KaYa vs. Zesty Lemon Juice on Silo.
Kaya
Kaya started the season off in third place, and that is where they finished.
They finish out season 4 with an even 7 wins and 7 loses.
Kaya will be looking to maintain their run of top 3 finishes in the DGL;
having placed first, second or third in all three complete seasons to date.
Their first match will pit them against fellow europeans ZLJ.
The last time these two teams met, Kaya beat ZLJ on Detonate, but can they beat ZLJ a second time?
Kaya has not had much success on Silo this season, losing to Fragternity, tank and nb on the map.
If they do, they will face either nb or murphy| in the second round.
Kaya has not beaten nb this season, while they have beaten murphy| twice.
ZLJ
ZLJ did not participate in Season 3, but made a very strong showing in Season 4.
They finished the season with 7 wins and only 4 loses.
ZLJ will be looking to cement their place at the top for next season, after having battled their way up from the bottom of the league
Kaya beat ZLJ in their only encounter. However, with the map being silo, and Kaya having a bad record of silo maps, ZLJ is poised to pull out the upset over Kaya.
ZLJ has only played on silo once this season, loing to nb in their last game of the season
Beating a powerhouse will be no small task for ZLJ, but should they win they will face nb or murphy|.
ZLJ has lost to nb twice while they have not played murphy| this season.
Seed 2 vs Seed 7
Null Byte vs. Murphy's Law on Silo.
nb|
nb has been in second place all season, failing to overtake Tank, while fending off all challengers from below.
In this fashion, nb find themselves with a season 4 record of 7 wins and 5 loses.
nb will be looking to continue their path of improving finishes, having places 3rd in season 2 while placing second in season 3, and dethrone Tank for the 1st place spot.
nb has yet to play murphy| this season, but are favored to win over the team once known as gfh.
Should nb win, they will face either Kaya or ZLJ, both of which they have beaten this season
murphy|
This is technically murphy|'s first season in the DGL, although they are made up of mostly players from the past clan, GFH.
Under either banner, this is murphy|'s first time in the DGL playoffs.
murphy| finished the season with 7 wins and 5 loses.
They have a big task ahead of them, needing to beat a team like nb in order to progress in the playoffs.
However, with nb's dranzer and Heavies' Jesbus, murphy could give nb a run for their money.
Both teams have done well on Silo in the past, so it will be interesting to see how they pair up against eachother
